As you know, we (Sheryl and Martin) are passionate about the value of local independent bookshops and the benefits they bring to their communities. Our aim has always been – and continues to be – to use our passion and skills to inspire the readers of today and create readers for tomorrow by connecting authors and their potential audiences in enjoyable and exciting ways.

We’re thrilled at what we have achieved in Gerrards Cross over the past 18 years, but to enable us to focus our energies on the Chorleywood Bookshop, we have come to the decision that the time has come for us to pass the baton of Gerrards Cross Bookshop onto new owners. We plan to continue developing the Chorleywood Bookshop, events schedule and other activities just as before, but to do this we need to take a step back from Gerrards Cross.

In short, we’re looking for someone takeover the Gerrards Cross Bookshop – someone with fresh ideas but a similar commitment and energy for running a bookshop as we will continue to bring to Chorleywood.

We feel the Bookshop represents an exciting opportunity for new owners to step in and bring a new impetus and an engaging vision to community bookselling in Gerrards Cross. The development potential is significant with considerable scope to enhance the enticing program of author events, book clubs and schools’ activities alongside establishing other ways of engaging with the local community.

We are nothing without you, our loyal and supportive customers, and we thank you for your ongoing support. That’s why we’re letting you know about our plans for the Gerrards Cross Bookshop shop first.

However, it’s also possible that YOU, or someone you know, might be the person we’re looking for to take Gerrards Bookshop forward with a new vision for the future!
