Elmer the colourful patchwork elephant, a childhood favourite since the first book was published in 1989, is turning 30 on
May 25^th.

Happy 30th Birthday, Elmer!

Deservedly a modern classic, with over ten million copies of his books sold worldwide, Elmer’s subtle message, that it is ok to be different, resonates with children across the world.  Elmer is different. Elmer is patchwork. The grey elephants all love him, but he wonders what it would be like to be just the same as them …  Elmer loves a practical joke.  He decides to blend in with the others by painting himself grey and so the fun begins!
