Children’s Writing Competition 2022

It’s time to launch our Children’s Writing Competition!
This year’s theme is ‘CELEBRATION‘ and we have not one but three fantastic authors who’ll be judging your entries!
Group 1 (school years Reception, 1 and 2)
Judge: Lauren Child
Design and draw a birthday cake for your favourite book character. Why have you chosen this character?
Group 2 (school years 3-6)
Judge: Jacqueline Wilson
You are planning a birthday party for your favourite book character. You can invite three people to the party. Who would you invite and why? What games and activities would you plan for the party?
You can write about this in any way you like. For example, you could write a story about your preparations for the party, or what happened at the party itself. You could write a poem or create an invitation. The choice is yours!
Group 3 (school years 7-11)
Judge: Ross Welford
Write a short story (approximately 500-800 words) with the title ‘A Time for Celebration’.
Please click here to download a copy of the entry form.
The closing date for entries is 5pm, Friday 1st April 2022.
Good luck!
