Gillian O’Driscol

Gillian joined our bookshop in 2014, having previously worked as a librarian and Bookstart co-ordinator. She enjoys promoting books, helping with events and also volunteers with listening books. Gillian is an avid reader!

Wendy Wright
Manager, CW


Wendy joined the bookshop in 2013, background is in accounting, but she is now enjoying her lifelong dream of working in a bookshop. Wendy runs two book clubs – Book Lovers and Chorleywood Crime Bookclub. Wendy loves to recommend a good read to undecided customers.

Helen John
CW


Helen has been with the bookshop since 2013. Her artistic talents result in beautiful window display including being the chief scarecrow maker! Helen can always be found chatting to customers, recommending her latest reads and making everyone feel welcome, particularly dogs and babies!

Martin McKean
Co-owner


Martin has been involved with the bookshops for many years but only officially joined in 2015. He works in the shops, pays the bills, does the returns, delivers to customers, supports at the events and fixes the printers. He also keeps us all happy and filled with tea! Martin enjoys most fiction with a slight bias towards historical fiction.

Sheryl Shurville
Co-owner


Sheryl left nursing to become a bookseller and co-owner of Chorleywood Bookshop in 2003 and acquired Gerrards Cross Bookshop in 2008. She is passionate about reading, books and sharing the experience with as many people as possible. Sheryl reads fiction and non-fiction alike and would love more hours in the day to read!

Milo
CW and GX


Milo has been with us since 2008. His favourite book is Hairy Maclary’s Bone. Milo’s main job is to pick up any crumbs that fall on the floor. He loves to chase balls and sticks and will offer a paw for a treat of any kind.

Poppy
CW and GX


Poppalula joined us in 2012. Her favourite book is The Detective Dog. Poppy’s main job is to do nothing but receive fuss. She can often be found at one of the shops swishing her tail whilst waiting for a tickle.
