Join SJ Bennett for an evening of royal murder mystery. Murder Most Royal is the third book in the popular series that affectionately features Queen Elizabeth II as a detective, ably assisted by her loyal sidekick, Rozie Oshodi. Sophia will be talking about how the series started, and what her plans are now that King Charles III is on the throne.
It’s the year 2016. Following her adventures in Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace, the Queen has family to entertain and a Christmas murder to solve at Sandringham. The public don’t know it, but she has been secretly and successfully solving crimes for years.
This time, a severed hand is found washed up on a beach next to the Queen’s country estate. Though she quickly identifies the 70-year-old victim from his signet ring, the search for his killer is not so straightforward.
Ned St Cyr led an unconventional, often controversial life, making many enemies along the way in the quiet, rural world of North Norfolk, where everyone knows each other’s business. When a second man is found dead, and a prominent local woman is nearly killed in a hit-and-run, the mystery takes a darker turn.
Copies of the book will be available to be signed and dedicated by Sophia. With their seasonal theme and beautiful end papers (the inside cover pages) featuring crowns, the Queen and her corgis, they will make great Christmas presents for mystery lovers.
