£325An exclusive creative writing course in the stunning setting of historic Chenies Manor House, one of Britain’s finest Tudor mansions, with bestselling biographer, novelist and historian Wendy Holden.
Whether you are interested in writing a novel, a biography, or a short story, this course is for you. Participants will be guided in how to develop prose style and the course will be suitable for beginners as well as those embarking on a project already begun.
After an introduction to the course and your tutor, the mornings will be structured around a series of exercises and writing prompts with the aim of improving your understanding of how to structure a piece of prose and to create believable characters, plots, scenes, and dialogue.
During the afternoon workshops, participants will be encouraged to share work in progress and there will be guided discussions on ways in which to develop your material further.
By the end of the course you will leave equipped with skills and techniques to help you refine your work, plus the support of your tutor and fellow writers to encourage and support you on your writing journey.
