UPDATE: Radio 4 recording

BBC Radio 4 are interested in recording our event for a programme of “The World at One” in December with Emily Jane Kirby.  As part of the event they would like William Sieghart to “prescribe” a poem for a challenging event in your life.  If you would like to be considered for a prescription, please read and apply here (Please note you must purchase an event ticket to be considered)

I’d LIKE A PERSONAL PRESCRIPTION

“… the whole collection is a matchless compound of hug, tonic and kiss. I cried at least five times.” Stephen Fry

Chorleywood Bookshop are delighted to spend an evening with William Sieghart and his collections of poetry for the heart, mind and soul. There’s something for everyone!

The book “The Poetry Pharmacy Tried-and-True Prescriptions for the Heart, Mind and Soul” began after he “prescribed” poetry to friends to help them through difficult times in their life.

William Sieghart beautifully meditates on ‘the problems that really matter’. This pocket-sized book presents the most essential poems in his dispensary: those which, again and again, have really shown themselves to work. Whether you are suffering from loneliness, lack of courage, heartbreak, hopelessness, or even from an excess of ego, there is something here to ease your pain.

William Sieghart is the founder of the Forward Poetry Prize and National Poetry Day. He is chairman of the Somerset House Trust, was commissioned by the government to review libraries and is an ardent ambassador for poetry.
